Reflection
Standard III, modeling digital age work and learning, encompasses a wide range of teaching resources. Implementing 21st century resources and effectively using these resources are imperative for teachers. Google Docs and Google Presentations can both be used to disseminate course information to students. Both of these can be found Google Drive, which students have access to. Using Google, teachers can creatively generate word documents and multimedia presentations, and students do not have to obtain costly software to view the material. Another Google tool that can be useful is the Google Survey. Teachers can survey students to obtain a wide variety of information. First and foremost, a survey can be used at the beginning of the semester to assess students’ knowledge of technology. Creating a course site is useful to model digital-age learning. Course materials can be included on the course site, and students can access the information at any time and any place that they have an internet connection. The public course site can also be beneficial to parents of K-12 students. Teachers can keep parents in the loop regarding their child’s learning and can offer forums for parents to ask questions and view other parent’s comments and/or concerns. Forums can also be used for students to provide feedback to their teachers.

Future Learning Goal
My teaching materials have quickly become outdated. I will use the new tools that we learned in IT 645 this semester, Google Docs and Google Presentations, to update my courses. I am going to add the Google survey that I created for this class to my course site as a first week’s assignment for each of my classes so I can gain understanding of students’ technical knowledge. I plan to update my online learning platform and add a forum to obtain feedback throughout the semester from students.
